We had a fantastic day for the Mount Lawley Junior Open on Tuesday, 22nd April. The weather gods smiled on us (perhaps a little too much at times as it got very warm), and many of our Mount Lawley Golf Club juniors played very good golf. Congratulations go to the Junior Open champions for 2025 – Mei Zhao and Spencer Harrison, both Mount Lawley junior members. Mei shot a very good even par 74 while Spencer finished with an excellent 4-under 68.
Congratulations also go to Mount Lawley junior member Rosie Tonts, who won the girls’ nett championship with a fantastic 63. Other significant results from our junior members: Isabella Leniartek was runner-up to Mei in the girls’ championship, shooting 78, including an eagle on 11. Ruby Han won the girls’ 14 years nett with a score of 72, while Madison Ling won the 15 – 17 years girls’ nett with a score of 75.
Well done to everyone, and a huge thank you to course marshals and score checkers Barb Blainey and Louise Carson, as well as all the pro shop staff, especially the super-efficient Brayden, the food and beverage staff, the front office staff, and the ground staff. It was a tremendous team effort and a great way to showcase our beautiful new course. Many juniors praised the course and said how much they had enjoyed playing it.
