Nick Bailey who will be joining the Grounds team on December 2nd for 4 months as a seasonal greenkeeper from Pittsburgh, USA.
The Club is assisting Nick with looking for paid accommodation between November 30 until March 27, 2020 preferably within 2-3kms from the Club so he can ride a bike or walk to work as he wont have a car, especially with the early starts.
Nick’s profile is as follows:
- Age: 25
- From: Natrona Heights in Pennsylvania approximately an hour from Pittsburgh, USA
- Currently working: at Oakmont Country Club ranked #9 in the World and has hosted more major championships in the USA than any other Club with the exception of Augusta National GC
- He has completed an Associate of Applied Science with Turfgrass Management Focus at The Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute
- He will be in Australia on a Work/holiday visa to gain further knowledge and experience in sports turf management. It will be his first time in Australia.
- Outside of work he enjoys hiking, kayaking, going to the beach and watching football
- His favourite teams are The Ohio State Buckeyes and the NFL Cleveland Browns
