How to Join – Junior

Please refer to the Benefits of MLGC Juniors page for information regarding playing rights and Club programmes. Below is a breakdown of the Junior fee structure for each age group and category of Junior membership.

Junior Fee Structure

Join at 14 or under

  • Pays annual subscription only until 15 yrs of age as at 1 October

  • From 15 to 17 yrs will pay the listed Annual Subscription, the first of which has a portion of the Nomination Fee included ($280).

  • From 18 to 20 yrs will pay the listed Annual Subscription plus one third of the outstanding portion on the Nomination Fee for a Junior (U/18).

Join at 15 yrs

  • From 15 to 17 yrs will pay the listed Annual Subscription, the first of which has a portion of the Nomination Fee included ($280).

  • From 18 to 20 yrs will pay the listed Annual Subscription plus one third of the outstanding portion on the Nomination Fee for a Junior (U/18).

Join at 16 yrs

  • From 16 to 17 yrs will pay the listed Annual Subscription only.

  • From 18 to 20 yrs will pay the listed Annual Subscription plus one third of the listed Nomination Fee for a Junior (U/18).

Join at 17 yrs

  • At 17yrs, will pay the listed Annual Subscription only.

  • From 18 to 20 yrs will pay the listed Annual Subscription plus one third of the listed Nomination Fee for a Junior (U/18).

Join at 18 yrs

  • Will pay the listed Annual Subscription.

  • Will pay a Nomination Fee for a Transitional Junior (U/21) spread over three years.

  • Note – a junior who has been a member for less than three continuous years at the time of being elected to adult membership may be required to pay the difference between the current adult Nomination Fee and the amount already paid. 

Join at 19 yrs

  • Will pay the listed Annual Subscription.

  • Will pay a Nomination Fee for a Transitional Junior (U/21) spread over two years.

  • Note – a junior who has been a member for less than three continuous years at the time of being elected to adult membership may be required to pay the difference between the current adult Nomination Fee and the amount already paid. Will pay a Nomination Fee (currently $800 male, $700 female) spread over two years. 

Join at 20 yrs

  • Will pay a Nomination Fee for a Transitional Junior (U/21).

  • Will pay the listed Annual Subscription.

  • Note – a junior who has been a member for less than three continuous years at the time of being elected to adult membership will be required to pay the difference between the current adult Nomination Fee and the amount already paid. The payment of this amount may by agreement, be paid in annual installments until the age of 25yrs.

Please note that date of birth and date of joining the Club may cause some minor variations to the above guidelines, particularly in relation to the staggered payment of the Nomination Fee. The circumstances of each new junior will be assessed and the amounts adjusted accordingly.

Application process

When potential members enquire about joining the Club, we welcome the offer of a no obligation complimentary round on selected days as we see this as an important component with the decision process when making the commitment to joining a private golf club. The next step is to download an application form which can be accessed from the sidebar menu to be completed and submitted to Membership & Communications Coordinator. All applications must be displayed on the Ballot Board for at least 14 days and a new member induction is arranged with the Junior Coordinators. For all applications, the induction process is flexible and can be arranged outside of business hours. The Board meet at the end of every month where all applicants for each month will be submitted for ballot approval.
