Women’s Competition

Conditions of Play Club Competition

  • Members register to play by entering their name at the Pro shop or on the internet. Drawn games will be entered on the shop computer.
  • A member may place their name plus one other on the Time Sheet. For foursomes a member may put down all four names.
  • Each member is responsible for signing her card and ensuring that the correct handicap has been used.
  • The Match Committee has full powers to alter or make any variation in the condition of the competition should it be deemed necessary.
  • Suspension of Play due to inclement weather as per (Note to rule 6-8B).
  • Pace of play – (Rule 6-7) will be strictly enforced each group must maintain its position on the course with respect to the group preceding it. Any group with a clear hole in front of them will be considered out of position.
  • If a card has not been completed in a stroke round it will be accepted for eclectic and 2’s competition.
  • Handicaps are now revised after every competition. It is your responsibility to check your current handicap before each game.

Avoid Slow Play

  • Be ready to hit off at the due time
  • Move as directly as possible to your own ball – do not congregate at each ball.
  • Pre-select your club preparatory to being ready to play your shot. If your habit is to practice swing, endeavour to do this without delay.
  • If an accepted long hitter is first to play, but others cannot reach the group ahead, play out of sequence to expedite the flow of the game.
  • Any shot played into the rough should be sought by the player concerned, and, perhaps a player en route to her own ball, on that side and in the vicinity. Other players should proceed to their own balls, play their shots if clear to do so, and then assist.
  • On arrival at the green every endeavour is to be made to place buggies at the nearest point to the next tee, before proceeding in sequence.
  • Try to study the line of the putt prior to your turn of play, providing that no interference is offered to others.
  • Wherever possible, and when not interfering with another player’s line, the player should putt out.
  • Where possible, assist a player coming out of a bunker, to smooth, when that player is the next to play.
  • Scorecards should only be marked at the next tee, not at the edge of the green just completed. The player with the ‘honor’ hits off, then marks their card.
  • Do not be offended if one of your group suggests to get a move on, to your place in the field. The lowest handicapped player in the group should determine the play.

WE HOPE YOU WILL ALL MAKE THE EFFORT TO DO THESE SIMPLE THINGS, COMMONSENSE AND UNSELFISH THINGS, ENSURING THAT ALL MEMBERS WILL ENJOY THEIR GOLF.

THANK YOU.
