Friday 24 October 2025 was a magic Mount Lawley Golf Day — another fine moment reminding us what makes our club so special. Friendly rivalry and the incredible generosity of our members and sponsors combined for a day that truly delivered on every level.

25 Teams hit the course for a shotgun start, greeted at every turn by laughter and creativity from our volunteers and staff who hosted an incredible range of novelty holes and on-course challenges. Highlights included the Vintage Golf Hole with Rolfe Kraus assisted by his (un)trusty partner Phil Day, the Betting Challenge with Alvie Anderson and her accomplice Maria Amesz making sure pockets were emptied, and the FlightScope Longest & Straightest Drive hosted by Duncan Kegg — where Luke Turner (278m) and Alison Chevin (156m) reigned supreme. And who could forget the cute and happy helpers Di Broadby had by her side on Hole 9, while Brayden and Danny showed all how to hit on Hole 7.

The Bull Market Swingers (John Bartle, Michael Montgomery, Chris D’Agostino & Phil Beake) claimed top honours with a score of 56 — narrowly beating The Wolf Pack and PCEC & AV Productions. Lance Dale came agonisingly close to a $1,000 Hole-in-One, finishing just 1.12m from the pin.

The evening dinner, hosted by TV presenter Tim McMillan, featured special guests Jack Petruccelle and Noah Long, a lively Q&A, raffles, a silent auction, wine wall and a thrilling live auction — all raising funds for our Junior Development Program supporting the future of MLGC Golf.

Thank you to TORO, our major sponsor; Sue Thomson and Alex McKay for their year-round commitment to the Juniors; Byron Wright and Karen Teong for going above and beyond; and the entire MLGC community for making Gala Day 2025 a huge success.

We look forward to seeing what we can accomplish again next year.

September 10th 2025

The Annual MLGC Gala Day is almost here..

On Friday, 24th October, we’ll come together for one of the most anticipated events on our calendar—a day of great golf, fantastic company, and vital fundraising for our Junior Development Program.

This special day is not only a highlight of the Club’s social and golfing calendar, but also a cornerstone in supporting the next generation of golfers. All proceeds go directly towards:

  • Essential resources for junior members

  • Annual scholarships

  • Support for elite juniors competing at the State and National level

Our goal this year is to field 30 teams in a team stableford competition. The day begins with registration, lunch, and refreshments from 11:30 am, followed by a 12:30 pm tee-off. Out on course, enjoy a range of novelty holes and fun activities, with plenty of chances to test your skills and share a laugh with fellow members.

The celebrations continue into the evening with a sumptuous dinner, fine wines, and an array of prizes, alongside a silent auction and raffle filled with exciting items.

There are plenty of ways you can be part of the day:

  • Enter a team of 4 – spots are limited, so secure yours quickly! Entry & Payment FORM

  • Donate prizes for the silent auction or raffle – sporting memorabilia, equipment, vouchers, electronic goods, or cash are all welcome.

  • Contribute to the Wine Wall – bottles of any kind, from premium to everyday favourites, will help us build an irresistible prize pool.

Over the years, Gala Day has grown into not just a fun-filled event, but also an essential driver of funding for our Junior Development Program. Thanks to your support, we continue to nurture and inspire young golfers to achieve their potential.

A huge thank you goes to our naming sponsor, Toro, for their ongoing commitment to Gala Day and junior golf at MLGC.

For details on how to get involved, please get in touch with melissa@mlgc.org. Let’s make this Gala Day one to remember—for our members today, and for the golfers of tomorrow.
