The Club’s premier annual golf event, the CMI Mount Lawley Classic was played on the weekend over 36 holes with the threat of lightening strikes on the Saturday thankfully holding off! Mount Lawley member Khoon Tan, playing off a handicap of 20 was victorious with a winning nett score of 138, with consistent rounds of 69 on both weekend days. Khoon was very humble being a relatively new member to the Club, he was complimentary of his experiences to date. We congratulate member Rick Ward who was runner up with a nett score 139. The two Nick’s from Lake Karrinyup CC received Best Gross (Nick Curnow, 147) and Runner Up (Former junior member Nick Vogel, 151 on a count back). The Club received many complimentary remarks from both members and visitors regarding the conduct of the event and condition of the course, and this together with the weather made for a most enjoyable two days. Well done to the Grounds staff and Hospitality staff for all their efforts to help make the event a success! We thank the efforts of the Golf Shop staff who kept with traditions and updated the live scores on both days out in the courtyard which was a nice touch! The Captain Paul Mountain thanked members on the night who stayed for presentations and it is also worth noting the three Lake Karrinyup players who returned for presentations after playing in the Sunday AM competition and patiently waited for the scores to be completed.  A special thank you to Combined Metal Industries (CMI), through Club member and ex-President David Elsegood who have been major sponsors for this event for over 10 years.  The generous prize table which received many complimentary comments and the success of the event would not have been possible without the ongoing support of Combined Metal Industries. Unfortunately David was not able to attend but ex-Captain Milan Trifunovic was on hand to present on his behalf.
