At Mount Lawley Golf Club, Beyond the Game reflects our belief that golf is only the beginning of what makes our Club special. Anchored in our unique combination of world class facilities, an exceptional course layout, and a diverse community of good people who are open to progress, it speaks to everything that happens here outside a round of golf. It’s the friendships formed, the mentoring offered, the family events, the volunteer spirit, the sustainability initiatives, and the sense of belonging that makes the Club feel like a second home.

Beyond the Game is important to our members because it captures the deeper value of being part of Mount Lawley – a positive, inclusive, and forward thinking community where everyone has the opportunity to grow, contribute, and enjoy experiences that reach far past the fairways.

We’re proud to be a signatory to the R&A’s Women in Golf Charter — and even prouder of the real progress we’re making every day to welcome more women and girls into our game.
Since becoming a signatory, the Club has worked hard to establish fundamentals to continue shifting the culture of golf to value women’s contributions and promote their involvement at all levels.

The establishment of a Women’s Committee tasked with assisting the club in achieving substantive equality between men and women, promoting and supporting the participation of women and girls at all levels, and assisting the club in providing a pathway for future board representation has been integral to continuing our work towards that substantive equality.

Opening new pathways into golf for women golfers, ongoing clinics for beginners and intermediate golfers, a “Member not Gender” approach to our Honour Board events and ensuring that our Championship quarter finals are played at the weekend, so that working women can participate, are only a few of the ways that we are encouraging participation and continuing to drive change.
From a leadership perspective, with a minimum of 2 female positions on our Board of Management, the response has been incredible, with a record number of women nominating for Board positions over the past 2 years. Our women are also well represented on all the club’s committees.

Our “Beyond the Game” culture ensures that there’s always something happening. The club is more than just a game of golf, with events scheduled throughout the year to engage our membership in many different areas, such as Wine Dinners, Pilates, Bridge, and Sundowners – to name but a few. Our mixed events are always a source of laughter and enjoyment.

Our club values of Respect, Honesty, Accountability, Openness, Inclusiveness and Loyalty fit well into our commitment to the Women in Golf Charter, and we look forward to continuing to support women and girls in golf at all levels.
